Finally! The blue floor is going

Saturday, June 1st, 2013

There were no surprises when successive floor guys told us we had the worst floor they had ever seen! Character, what are you talking about?! So, the quotes started coming in. The first one – hmmm- your dreaming! The second, double the first…anyway, we eventually found someone to shot blast the floor to remove the paint (a much more efficient way to prep the surface than grinding a floor full of pits & dynabolts). Floor ground, leveler down. Now we need it to dry so it can be sealed.

With the dust free screens gone, it was time for demolition.

CBA Meeting Room Screens

Saturday, June 1st, 2013

The fit-out of our new space has been a juggling act as we had to produce these screens in a dust free environment before demolition of site offices and a kitchen could begin. These ply panels were sprayed with a coloured stain / wash onsite before identical designs in echo panel were glued to the reverse side of the plywood screen, for visual and acoustic affect. The glue had to be applied close enough to all the cut edges so that the two panels couldn’t be separated, but not so close that the coloured glue was visible and squished out. To add to the fun, there was a 15  minute window to get the glue down before it went off. Fortunately we had plenty of boxes of stationery to act as weights and oodles of clamps.
